AmidA Co., Ltd., which owns Hankoya.com Inc., an Internet-based manufacturer/retailer of “hanko” or traditional Japanese stamps will open a brick-and-mortar store, “Hankoya.com Narita,” in the 2nd passenger terminal building of Narita International Airport for a limited period from July 7 to August 31, 2015.
The airport store will have a storefront installation of “Water Light Graffiti,” an LED-studded board designed by French artist Antonin Fourneau, offering airport travelers a unique experience to see Japan’s traditional stamp impressions and brush strokes turning into an art of light. Mr. Fourneau will be present at the Narita store on July 7 and 8 to celebrate the opening of “Water Light Graffiti,” offering live performances of light and characters.
